FAQs
Answers to common questions about Steedan’s writing courses, delivery options, tailoring, confidentiality and use of AI.
Courses and delivery
-
Course duration varies depending on the topic and delivery method. Most courses are delivered as a full day or two half-day virtual sessions. Some courses, such as Writing Minutes of Meetings, are offered as half-day programs.
-
Steedan delivers courses face-to-face and virtually via platforms such as Teams or Zoom. Delivery is agreed based on organisational preference, participant location and learning objectives.
-
Courses typically accommodate up to 16 participants. This ensures sessions remain interactive while allowing facilitators to provide targeted guidance and feedback.
-
Participants should have some experience writing workplace documents. Courses are designed for team members who write as part of their role and want to improve clarity, structure and efficiency.
-
Yes. Steedan is based in Melbourne but delivers training nationally and internationally, either face-to-face or virtually.
Tailoring, confidentiality and organisational fit
-
Yes. All Steedan courses can be tailored to your organisation’s documents, templates, style guides and approval processes. This ensures training is relevant and immediately applicable.
-
Where appropriate, participants work with real or redacted documents. Using authentic examples strengthens learning and ensures techniques translate directly to the workplace.
-
Steedan treats all organisational material as confidential. We do not share examples between organisations, are happy to sign confidentiality agreements and delete materials at the conclusion of training.
-
Yes. In some organisations, managers prefer to collect and redact examples before submission. Steedan is flexible and works within your governance requirements.
-
Absolutely. Courses can be aligned to internal style guides, government writing standards and organisational policies to ensure consistency.
AI, pricing and next steps
-
Yes, where appropriate. Courses demonstrate how AI tools can support editing and refinement while respecting organisational policies, confidentiality and professional judgement. Our approach is to show participants how to use AI to polish the work rather than create the work.
-
No. AI assists with drafting and polishing, but strong writing skills remain essential for structure, judgement, tone and accuracy—particularly in high-stakes documents.
-
Courses are typically priced at a set daily rate, covering facilitation for up to 16 participants. Pricing depends on course type, duration and delivery method.
-
Booking lead times vary depending on facilitator availability. Early discussions are recommended, particularly for tailored programs or in-person delivery.
